Although built around 1570, The West Arms has only formally been an Inn since 1670. For the first 100 years, it was formerly a Drivers Inn where cattle drovers coming down from the Welsh hills by way of three tracks (now passable roads) converged on The West Arms to refresh themselves and their livestock , before continuing their journeys to market. Attractive bedrooms have replaced old cattle stalls, but nothing is likely to shift the original 16th-century charm
