Steeped in local history, The West began life as a Welsh farm which later became a Drovers’ Inn known as ‘The Eagles’ where cattle drivers would rest their livestock on their way down from the Welsh hills en route to Chirk, Oswestry and London.
Today, The West has been lovingly restored to enhance all its magnificent original 16th Century features. Your guests can take in the fresh country air in our Beer Garden, relax in one of the many nooks and crannies with a board game or beside one of our traditional inglenook fireplaces with a drink in hand. Looking for something quirky? The Bunny Warren Suite, one of the quirkiest Inn, is aptly named after Mr and Mrs Bunny, who owned the hotel in the 1950s. With original exposed beams throughout, the room is arranged over two floors with a bedroom on the third floor and a lounge on the lower floor.
